Rory concentrates his practice in patent preparation and prosecution, especially in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automotive catalysts, semiconductors and cosmetics.

More Detail:

Rory joined Servilla Whitney in 2011. Prior to this, he interned in the intellectual property department of a biotech company. At the biotech company, he drafted provisional patent applications, prepared responses to USPTO office actions, prepared trademark filings, and conducted prior art and trademark searches. Rory also reviewed the intellectual property provisions in research agreements, material transfer agreements and licensing agreements. Rory was also an intern in the chambers of the Honorable Michael A. Shipp, U.S.M.J. and the Honorable Joseph A. Dickson, U.S.M.J. Additionally, he interned with the technology exchange office of a university, where he conducted prior art searches and drafted provisional patent applications. During law school, Rory represented his school at the Giles S. Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition, an interscholastic intellectual property moot court competition. Rory took various intellectual property courses in law school, including classes in pharmaceutical patent law, patent litigation, patent claim drafting, patent law, and advanced intellectual property.

Outside of work, Rory enjoys traveling and sports, particularly football and basketball.
