Payal joined Diehl Servilla in 2006 after spending one year at a commercial law firm. During that year, her experience included drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including retail agent agreements, purchase order agreements, intellectual property licenses and non-disclosure agreements. During law school, Payal completed an Intellectual Property concentration and clerked with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where she participated in all aspects of discovery including responding to discovery requests, drafting prospective deposition questions, interrogatories and document requests and preparing witnesses for depositions.

In addition to trademark and patent prosecution practice, her intellectual property experience since joining Diehl Servilla has included freedom to operate and patentability studies and developing strategies for enforcement proceedings abroad. Payal has also counseled clients regarding product packaging, proper use of trademarks and compliance with third party trademark use requirements.

Payal lives in Brooklyn with her husband. Outside of the office, Payal enjoys traveling, trying new cuisines and spending time antiquing.
